Our route in Zambia
We visited Zambia in January 2015
during a complete trip around southern
and eastern Africa
On the way between Zimbabwe and Malawi, we just visited a few places on route in Zambia.
Route in Zambia:
from January 14th til 26th 2015
( 12 days/ 12 nights).
-
Livingstone
- Victoria
Falls (4 nights, camping)
-
Sleeper
train Livingstone-Lusaka (1 night)
-
Lusaka (4 nights, couchsurfing)
-
Chipata
(3 nights, room)
Total: around 1.100 km (tarred roads). Bus and train.
Zambia has much more to offer.
Even the independent and low-cost traveller can manage, but the choice of destinations will be more limited.
Zambia is a good country to see wild life, with good and big game parks not too crowded. But we already visited a few ones in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana, during our roadtrip, and we didn´t visit any game parks in Zambia, not wanting to join a tour.
Will I see travellers in Zambia?
You will in Livingstone. Remember Victoria Falls is one of the biggest tourist spots in Africa.
In other places, not so many, specially out of season. Just a few in Lusaka, Chipata (route to Malawi) or South Luanga, Low Zambezi.
You will see many expats in Lusaka.
Zambia is still out of the crowds.
